Three EasyJet flights declare mid-air emergency near London Gatwick

Three EasyJet planes flying to London Gatwick airport have declared mid-air emergencies within seconds of each other.

The planes are now approaching the busy London airport for landing.

Reports on social media suggest Gatwick has just reopened after a temporary closure which forced several flights to divert.

Some flights can make emergency calls following closures so they can jump the queue and land due to being low on fuel.

It is not yet known why these flights have made emergency calls.
