Thomas Markle says he sent Meghan flowers for birthday but ‘she ghosted him’
Thomas Markle, dad of Meghan, reportedly sent his estranged daughter a bouquet of red and yellow roses for her 40th birthday this week – but claims she ignored him.
Mr Markle, 77, sent the flowers along with a card which said: "Wishing you a happy birthday and brighter days," writes TMZ.
The bouquet is said to have included a dozen red roses surrounding two yellow roses – believed to have symbolised the two children Meghan has with her husband Prince Harry – Archie, and Lilibet Diana.
The former lighting director feels his grandchildren – who he has never met – don't have enough family around them in California and wanted to incorporate them into the arrangement according to reports.
It comes after he threatened to take the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to court in order to see Archie and Lilibet.
He told Fox News he was ready to take legal action "in the very near future".
Mr Markle has had a strained relationship with Meghan ever since she tied the knot with Harry.
Before the big day, he struck a big deal with paparazzi to stage photos of him, which he has since said he regrets.

Mr Markle pulled out of walking the Duchess down the aisle at the ceremony after suffering a heart attack and Prince Charles took his place.
Meghan later told Oprah her father had 'betrayed' her and she found it "hard to reconcile" with him when she sat down with the US host for an explosive interview in March for CBS.
The relationship has grown tense as Mr Markle has continued to talk to the press in a bid to get his daughter to speak with him.
As his health deteriorates, he fears he will never get to meet his grandchildren, Archie, 2, and baby Lilibet, who was born on June 4.
He has never met Prince Harry either, his son-in-law.
Speaking at his Mexico home, 70 miles from where the Sussexes' live in LA, he said: "We shouldn’t be punishing [Lili] for Meghan and Harry’s bad behavior.
"Archie and Lili are small children. They’re not politics. They’re not pawns. They’re not part of the game. And they’re also royal and entitled to the same rights as any other royal."
"… I will be petitioning the California courts for the rights to see my grandchildren in the very near future,' he added.
