Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 95th birthday tomorrow, on Wednesday April 21.

This will mark the first birthday she will spend without her husband in seven decades.

Prince Philip passed away “peacefully” on April 9 aged 99, and his funeral took place in St George’s Chapel in Windsor on April 17.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, only 30 people were allowed at the service, and the Queen had to sit on her own.

The Duke of Edinburgh was the longest serving consort in British history, and he had been married to the Queen for 73 years.

The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family will still be in an official two-week period of mourning for her late husband.

How will the Queen spend her 95th birthday?

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, it is believed Her Majesty will enjoy a “quiet lunch” with close family members at Windsor Castle. This will likely be outside due to the current rules.

The Royal Family remains in a period of mourning, so any events will likely be shelved or toned down.

The Queen is like to spend the rest of the day doing the same things as usual.

It is said she will be surrounded by the small number of staff who make up her bubble at the castle.

The Queen is also expected to have a video call with Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five and Prince Louis, two, sources told The Mirror.

Sources told Daily Mail that the Monarch will also likely drive herself down to Frogmore to walk her new puppies, Fergus, a dorgi and Muick, a corgi.

The Monarch got the new dogs around the time Prince Philip went into hospital, and it is thought they have been a great source of comfort since his passing.

Usually, the Queen’s birthday will be marked by gun salutes in both Hyde Park and the Tower of London.

However, these have been cancelled this year as she continues to mourn her husband.

It is also traditional to celebrate milestones with new portraits of the Royals.

However, plans for a new portrait to be painted of her has reportedly been scrapped too.

Her official birthday in June is usually marked by the annual Trooping the Colour parade.

However, for the second year in a row, celebrations will not go ahead due to the pandemic.
