Tesco issues urgent ‘do not eat’ warning over potentially dangerous product
Tesco has issued an urgent "do not eat" warning regarding one of its products due to a potentially dangerous ingredient.
The supermarket has also been forced to recall the product given the ingredient isn't mentioned on the label.
An alert from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Tuesday (February 28) said Tesco was recalling "Tesco Arrabbiata Sauce" given that it may contain milk.

Milk is not mentioned on the label, meaning "the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents," according to the FSA.
Specifically, the alert refers to 350g pots of Tesco Arrabbiata Sauce with a use by date of March 2.
The issue only relates to pots of the sauce with that date code.
A spokesperson for the FSA said: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents do not eat it.
"Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund, no receipt is required. For further details please contact Tesco customer services on 0800 505 555."
The customer services number for those in the Republic of Ireland is 1800 248 123
A spokesperson for Tesco said: "Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused."
The FSA issues allergy alerts when there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.
Products can either be withdrawn, meaning they are removed from supermarket shelves, or recalled, meaning customers are asked to return them.
