Teen’s horror as enormous 8ft SNAKE pulled from car bonnet

Sophie Halbert, 18, from Queensland, Australia, was horrified to watch the giant snake making itself at home in her engine on Wednesday.

After the girl’s eldest brother Troy arrived at the Gold Coast home, both he and his dad Thomas set upon locating exactly where the python was in the vehicle.

Footage of the incident shows the two men pulling the giant snake from its bonnet.

In a second clip, they hold up the eight-foot carpet python before putting it in a pillowcase.

The family later released the creature in a nearby forest – away from harm’s way.

Sophie later told Aus News: “Myself, one of my brothers and my mum were in her car backing out of our driveway on our way to McDonald’s when we saw the snake go under and up into my car, which was parked out the front.

“When I first saw it go under my car, I hoped like hell it would continue on… but it moved upwards into my engine.

“I was petrified and meant to work today. It was terrifying. There was no way I was getting into that car.”

She admitted, while the carpet python was rather beautiful, she’d much rather her new slithery friend make a home elsewhere.

“Out of all the cars on the street, the snake just had to choose my car as the victim,” Sophie later said.

“I’m just so glad we saw it. I would have smashed if it had come into my car while I was driving.

“I’m so grateful that my family were calm, and knew how to handle the situation.”
