Teen killed instantly by ‘drunk and high’ 100mph driver after his 18th party

Two teenagers have been killed instantly in a head on collision with a "drunk and high" driver.

Best friends Riley Danard and Khalea Theouk, from Seattle, US, both died during the horrific crash just hours after celebrating Riley's 18th birthday.

The 36-year-old driver Delfino Lopez-Morales was 55 miles over the speed limit and on the wrong side of the road on West Seattle Bridge, say police.

Police found the suspect had an alcohol content of 0.14 which is nearly twice the legal limit after the incident in March that took place just after midnight.

According to local reports, his THC level tested at 2.8, which is the active ingredient in marijuana.

In addition, officers allegedly found an empty beer bottle in the passenger seat of his white truck, which he had borrowed from a friend.

The suspect has since been charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Riley's heartbroken mum Kristie Danard called the loss of her son a "nightmare I'll never wake up from."

She told KING 5: "I will never get over the loss of my sweet son Riley and his best friend Khalea.

"This is a nightmare I'll never wake up from.

"He was the kindest, most gentle, and loving young man with an incredibly bright future.

"Riley and Khalea were the most amazing people you could ever meet.

“They loved each other so much. The world has lost two incredible people Losing them will forever impact many lives."

The horrific collision was captured on camera by Seattle Department of Transportation but the footage has not been released by officials.

Video from the scene shows the suspect speeding down the wrong side of the bridge just seconds before the crash.

Lopez-Morales had also driven over a concrete curb that divides the lanes of the bridge.

Footage from traffic cameras on the bridge also capture cars with severe damage to the front end of the vehicles.

Bystanders rushed over to the cars to help the victims but tragically the teens were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to recent court papers, the alleged drunk driver was badly injured in the crash and is still recovering from the incident.

Kelsey Brogan, a friend of the Thouek family, has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for the teenager's funeral expenses.

So far, a combined $67,000 has been raised in tribute to the childhood friends who attended Snohomish High School

The suspect was arrested at the scene of the crash and is due to appear in court on June 15.

His bail has been set at $250,000 (around £200,000).
