Sussex critic questions why Harry and Meghan ‘kowtowing’ to ‘Netflix paymasters’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are "kowtowing to their Netflix paymasters" despite the production company "painfully recreating" his mother's final days and "traumatising" funeral procession, a critic has claimed.

Anglea Levin, a vocal critic of the Sussexes, has said that Prince Harry should have done the "honorable" thing and walked away from his Netflix deal, returning the money.

Writing for Sky News Australia, Levin suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan’s "hypocrisy continues at a steady pace," and the Duchess' "thirst for money is never quenched."

She cited a previous interview at Kensington Palace with Prince Harry, when he spoke of how "traumatising" the days after his mother's death were, in 1997 aged just 12.

"My mother had just died and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television," Harry told Levin.

"I don't think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. I don't think it would happen today. No child should lose their mother at such a young age and then have his grief observed by thousands of people… People who had never met or spoken to her."

With this in mind, Levin said, why would Harry then willingly work with the company who, in the forthcoming fifth season of The Crown, have "so painfully recreated the last days of Diana’s life."

And Harry won't be spared from the funeral procession either, with it being reserved for season six.

"The dreaded funeral procession will be agony for Harry and other royals to watch," Levin wrote.

She added: "It’s hard to believe that Harry would want to work for such a company. Shouldn’t he have behaved honourably, walked away and returned the money?

"But not when his and Meghan’s thirst for money is never quenched."

After stepping back from royal duties in January 2020, Harry and Meghan penned a handful of big money deals and have been working on a documentary for Netflix about their lives together.
