Man fatally stabbed in Queens subway station, cops say

Several suspects were collared Friday in connection with the horrific string of early morning attacks on the subway in Manhattan that left four victims slashed and another punched, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The “persons of interest” were busted around 1 p.m. within Transit District 1 at Broadway and West 79th Street, sources said.

Sources say at least two men randomly attacked straphangers during a 35-minute span on the rails hours earlier.

The terrifying crime spree began at around 4:25 a.m. when a 44-year-old man sitting on a southbound 4 train was slashed in the face at the Union Square stop.

The assailants stayed on the train and then targeted two men asleep in different cars minutes later.

One of the victims, 41, said a man woke him up at Astor Place and punched him in the face, according to police sources.

The other victim, 40, said he woke up to his friend being attacked — and then was slashed himself, the sources said.

The thugs remained on the train and then slashed a 44-year-old man in the head near the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall stop, sources said. The victim had cash stolen from him and his cell phone tossed onto the tracks.

At 5 a.m., a 44-year-old man was stabbed in the right eye, slashed in the back and left side of his neck and his backpack was stolen on a northbound D train at the 59th Street/Columbus Circle station, sources said.
