Steve Bannon’s outrageous claim about Ivanka Trump exposed: ‘She’s dumb as a brick!’

Mr Bannon was campaign chief for the Trump campaign back in 2016 and then served as White House Chief Strategist for seven months after Donald Trump took the presidency. While the Breitbart founder insisted he only intended to stay in Mr Trump’s employment for the total of a year, the US President himself has claimed he was sacked. After Mr Bannon criticised the Trump administration in 2018 book ‘Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House’ by Michael Wolff, Mr Trump disavowed him, claiming on Twitter: “When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”

Meanwhile, Ms Trump – dubbed the First Daughter due to her unprecedented role in the administration – is a senior adviser to the president for womens’ issues.

Her husband Jared Kusher is also a senior adviser, but for strategic planning.

During their time working together, Mr Trump feuded with Ms Trump and Mr Kushner, but he escalated his public attacks after leaving the White House.

In January 2018, he was quoted in Mr Wolff’s book branding Ms Trump was “as dumb as a brick” and called a June 2016 meeting between a group of Russians and top Trump campaign officials including Donald Trump Jnr “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”.

He later backpedaled on his comments about the President’s son, but not the ones about his daughter.

Meanwhile, the book ‘Fire and Fury’ itself has been accused of containing reporting errors, factual inaccuracies and rumours.

However, this wasn’t the first time Mr Bannon took a pop at the First Daughter.

He previously dubbed Ms Trump the “queen of leaks” and called Mr Kushner “immature”.

Mr Bannon insisted that the First Daughter was “a fount of bad advice” during the election and that she once called him “a f***ing liar”.

He added that Mr Kushner “doesn’t know anything” about Mr Trump’s supporters and blamed him for meetings that left the campaign open to attacks about cosying up to the Russians.

In response to all attacks on the White House and its advisers, Mr Trump issued a statement about Mr Bannon in January 2018 in which he minimised Mr Bannon’s role and influence.

This is despite the fact that Mr Bannon was hired to work as an “equal partner” with former White House chief of staff Reince Preibus, making him one of the most powerful voices in the West Wing.

Mr Trump said: “Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency.

“When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.

“Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.

“Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I made it look.

“Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country.

“Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was.

“It is the only thing he does well.”

Ivanka herself has not responded to the comments.
