Snake charmers called in after horror bathroom discovery of 60 newborn snakes

Snake charmers were called after someone found around 60 newborn snakes in their bathroom.

An entire snake's nest was also uncovered, where 75 hatched egg shells lay.

The house in Uttar Pradesh, India was owned by Ranjit Singh but was rented out a while ago, according to India Today.

The distressed tenants spotted snakes in the home on Wednesday (May 18) coming from their bathroom.

They called local snake charmers who arrived and tore up the bathroom floor.

Underneath the floorboards were the 60 snakes and 75 hatched eggs, concerningly leaving 15 reptiles unaccounted for.

The snake experts spent hours trying to round up the snakelets. When they were eventually caught they were released back into the wild in a nearby forest.

After the horrifying incident, Ranjit Singh's tenants blamed the poor drainage system in the property.

Gruesome images taken from the bathroom showed piles of tiny eggs, crushed where the snakes had crawled out.

A number of the snakes were placed together in plastic drinking bottles. They appeared at most to be a few centimetres long.

This comes after a similar incident in Australia last month, after a couple were told there was a "snake party" in their attic.

Stuart McKenzie, of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, came across the terrifying discovery after the homeowners contacted him having noticed traces of snakes.

When McKenzie started to search their attic he noticed there were up to 50 reptile skins inside as well as a live venomous snake.

He was initially only hired as a precaution to ensure the couple, from Queensland, could go ahead with getting their insulation cleaned out of their roof.
