Sleeping teen hit by brick as thugs go on rampage and smash up cars outside home

Police are appealing to the public for information after a teen boy was hit by a brick when two would-be thieves attempted to steal the cars at a Birmingham home.

CCTV near the Sutton Coldfield home shows one of the three luxury cars flashing indicator lights when two men walked past the garage at nearly 4am on January 31.

One of them can be seen throwing a brick towards the house, which ends up striking a 15-year-old sleeping in a bed inside.

The other man smashes up the windows of the family's cars including a Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery and Volvo XC 90, before jumping in a getaway vehicle and driving away.

The boy's father, 42, who had asked not to be named, was at home with his family and called the police when the incident happened.

He reviewed the security footage and saw the pair had pulled up outside the house and thrown a brick through the window.

"Because they couldn’t get the cars they smashed all the windows," he said, reported Birmingham Live.
