Sheriff’s deputy shares note left by black women after random act of kindness
A Tennesee sheriff’s deputy was moved by a heartwarming gesture from two black women while he was having breakfast — and shared the random act of kindness on social media.
Sumner County Sheriff’s Deputy Jody McDowell said he was dining at a Cracker Barrel near the Nashville airport when he learned that the two women covered his meal for him.
“I want to thank the two sweet black ladies who paid for my breakfast this morning,” he wrote Tuesday on Facebook.
McDowell also shared a photo of a note the women left behind for him that said, “[BLack Lives Matter], but so does yours!”
“Thank you for your service. Breakfast paid,” the message said.
The post has gone viral on social media, where it has received more than 2,700 likes and hundreds of comments as of Thursday afternoon.
“This was a very compassionate and beautiful act of kindness done for a fellow human being!” wrote one Facebook user.
