Seven Brits treated for CROCODILE bites last year, hospital stats show
Overall, the number of people requiring emergency treatment last year was 17,708 – up from 17,281 the previous year.
Luckily, health bosses have seen the funny side of the statistics.
Taking to Twitter, a governor at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Dr Sarah Holmes, joked: “What we need is a public health campaign. Self care and all that!
“If you’re ever being chased by a crocodile, run in a zigzag pattern to give you time to reconsider your life choices.”
In 2017, then Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt also quipped about croc bite-prone patients.
He wrote at the time: “Sounds like I need to commission a strategy paper on this one”.
