Selby stabbing: Man and woman injured in 'bloodbath stabbing' in Selby as man arrested
A MAN and woman have been injured in a "bloodbath stabbing" in Selby today.
Cops cordoned off Finkle street in the North Yorkshire town this morning and an air ambulance was spotted by witnesses in the area.
North Yorkshire Police say a man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Pedestrians, as well as motorists, have been blocked from using the
road, which is lined with shops and cafes.
One witness said he saw a man being carried out of a flat on a stretcher.
He told Yorkshire Live: "It looked pretty intense.
"By the looks of the amount of the blood on the floor and the man carried out on the stretcher it had been a stabbing.
"He didn't look the healthiest in the world."
As well as the air ambulance, which is reported to have landed in a
nearby field, there are several ambulance units accompanying the
police officers on the scene.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Police attended a property in Finkle Street just before 9am this morning, where they located a man who had suffered serious injuries. A woman was also found injured.
“A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
“Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while forensic enquiries continue at the scene.”
It comes just days after two other men were stabbed in Selby.
The men in their thirties – both from Selby – were discovered in D'Arcy Road on Sunday.
They had suffered injuries believed to be caused by what police described as a 'bladed article'. A 19-year-old man was arrested.
