Sainsbury’s stuns shoppers by stocking bargain sex toys on shelves

Major Brit supermarket Sainsbury’s has stunned shoppers – by stocking a range of cheap sex toys.

The grocery chain is now selling vibrators alongside its condoms and lubricants products.

And shoppers have been left jaw-dropped by the discovery of the supermarket’s latest offerings.

But it’s not going down well with all customers, with some taking to making complaints.

One mum even told how she squirmed when her seven-year-old son pointed at one and asked what it was.

She told The Sun: “What’s become of Sainsbury’s? This is so wrong.”

A worker at a store in Halifax, West Yorks, also told the newspaper that an elderly customer was left less than impressed.

“They are pretty new and, to be honest, a bit much to have on the shop floor,” the staff member said.

"There have been complaints. One lady in her 70s told me she was shocked.

“She said she’d had five kids and wasn’t a prude but said it was like an Ann Summer’s store.”

The range, by Rocks Off, was first launched last year at more than 300 of Sainsbury’s 1,415 UK stores.

They include the “indulgently powerful 10-speed intimate massager” Aura Heaven Sent silver vibrator at £15, Touch of Velvet at £12 and Precious Gold Passion at £8.

Paul Mills-Hicks, food commercial director at Sainsbury’s, said at the time of the launch: “Our Living Well Index clearly shows this is an important area for customers’ overall well-being.”
