A Russian opposition leader and critic of Vladmir Putin has been rushed to hospital after reportedly being poisoned.
Anti-corruption campaigner Alexei Navalny fell ill during an early morning flight from Moscow, his spokeswoman said on Twitter.
The pilot was forced to make an emergency stop 500 miles away win Omsk, where he has been rushed to hospital.
Doctors have reportedly concluded that the staunch Putin critic was poisoned via a “hot liquid”.
Spokeswoman Kira Yarmsh wrote on Twitter: “We believe Alexei was poisoned by something mixed into his tea.
“It was the only thing he drank in the morning."
