  • Members of the Royal Family are wondering why Prince Harry made the trip to the UK for the coronation of King Charles, a source has claimed.

Reports have claimed that the Prince was in the UK for around 28 hours and that time was spent at least in part alone at Frogmore Cottage.

The Prince arrived in the UK on Friday (May 5) and was gone by the end of the coronation day on May 6.

The Duke of Sussex is understood to have made a quick trip to Buckingham Palace after the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey for a logistical pause and to get out of the public eye for a moment of respite.

This step inside the iconic headquarters of the royal family is understood to have involved him “slipping in and out of the monarchy’s headquarters briefly without seeing the royal family,” the Telegraph reports.

A close pal of the family is understood that have now questioned why, given the brevity of the trip as a whole, Harry made the effort in the first palace.

The source told Vanity Fair the family had been left “wondering why Harry bothered to come at all.”

They added: “One makes one’s choices.

“To be honest there wasn’t much talk of Harry at all. The focus was very much on the occasion.”

Harry is understood to have turned down the chance to have an in informal lunch with the Buckingham Palace Royals and is understood to have been keen to get back in good time.

It was also his son Archie’s birthday on the day of the coronation.

King Charles, who reportedly gave a toast to Archie and Lilibet, is understood to have been “saddened” by the fleeting nature of his son’s visit according to the pal.

The source added: “Beatrice and Eugenie are the only ones who really speak to Harry. He’s actually very close to Eugenie and Jack, but there’s very little if any contact with the rest of his family who are still reeling from what he has said and done”.
