Royal fans spot resemblance between Prince Louis and Philip in new family photo

Eagle-eyed royal fans have spotted a striking resemblance between Prince Louis and another royal in a new family photo.

Kate Middleton and Prince William released their 2021 family Christmas card today, which was as adorable as to be expected.

Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6 and Louis, 3, appeared sat in front of their parents in a rocky, desert landscape.

Kate and Charlotte were seen in smart summer dresses, whereas the boys all donned short-sleeved shirts with their top buttons loose.

While royal fans gushed over the wholesome snap on Twitter, some couldn't help but notice how much Louis looks like a his great-grandfather Prince Philip.

Replying to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's photo, one person asked: "Is it just me or does Charlotte look exactly like the Queen and little Louis has a lot of Philip in him (in the eyes/stare)?"

Another person agreed regarding Louis and wrote: "Little Louis has the look of a trouble-maker lol, that steely gaze, very Philip."

The first person then decided to dig out an old photo of Philip as a boy, also cropping today's picture of Louis down to compare them side-by-side.

She wrote next to the photos: "His gaze/eyes = totally Philip. The eyebrows. The facial structure.

"The mouth is Philip's, as well (curls upward at the end). Only difference is Philip's hair was a bit blonder, that's it. Must be so lovely for the Queen."

The most striking similarity is the hair, with both boys sporting light coloured quiffs sweeping down across their foreheads.

The mouth, nose and eyes are all striking, although Louis appears to have a more full face compared to his great-grandfather.

Another Twitter user disagreed, instead arguing that Louis looks like a much closer relation.

They replied to the photos: "I think Louis looks so much like Kate."

This year's Christmas card came as the Cambridge look set to spend the festive season with the Queen at Sandringham.

It will be the first time Louis gets to join the royals on the Norfolk estate.
