Royal fans moan at Prince Louis’ Wimbledon absence and his ‘entertaining’ antics
Wimbledon fans have lamented the absence of Prince Louis in the Royal Box on Centre Court as Novak Djokovic claimed his seventh Men’s Singles title at the All England Club.
The Serb bounced back from losing the first set to surprise finalist Nick Kyrgios, to win in four sets in what was an entertaining showpiece.
Watching on from the best seats in the house were Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with eldest son Prince George, but there was no sign of Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis.

George was making his debut at Centre Court, two weeks shy of his ninth birthday, but supporters were bemoaning young Louis’ non-appearance, especially after wowing the crowds and stealing headlines with his antics at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee pageant.
Wimbledon rules, though, do not allow youngsters under the age of five – as they don’t want them causing disruption to the sporting proceedings – with four-year-old Louis missing out by a year.
But this didn’t stop fans wishing the young prince had been there, just to provide some off-court entertainment as Djokovic slugged his way to a 21st Grand Slam crown.
Devotees of his took to Twitter to voice their disappointment, with one follower sparking a deluge of responses, by writing: “Anyone else think watching Louis at Wimbledon would’ve been hilarious?”
The garnered the following reply: “Absolutely, I would have watched Wimbledon just to see him”, along with “#princelouis, the only one that would have matched #nickkyrgios maturity level."

A second user tweeted: “It would have been great if they’d brought Prince Louis as well. After his Jubilee performance, IOM sure he’d keep Centre Court entertained”, while another added: “The world was looking forward to seeing Prince Louis and his funny moments.”
A fourth quipped: “They should have brought Prince Louis along. I expect he’s going to be banned from public events for life after the legendary Jubilee tantrum, though.”
