Royal Albion Hotel fire: Blaze rips through historic Brighton hotel as smoke billows metres into the air | The Sun
A HOTEL in Brighton has been engulfed in flames as firefighters tackle the blaze.
The fourth floor of the historic Royal Albion Hotel on the Old Steine in is on fire with smoke billowing metres into the air.
A dozen appliances and around 48 firefighters are tackling the inferno.
Roads around the Old Steine, including eastbound on Kings Road, have all been closed off.
Firefighters from Preston Circus, Newhaven, Hove, Lewes, Eastbourne, Pevensey and appliances from West Sussex were called out at 5.24pm, according to the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
The public has been asked to avoid the area.
