Ross Cellino appears in dog rescue ad amid Barnes split

Who needs Barnes when you have a new, loyal partner?

Attorney Ross Cellino, half of the newly defunct injury law firm of Cellino & Barnes, is appearing in viral TV ad for a dog rescue group with a pup named Cooper.

Cellino, who is in the final stages of a split with longtime partner Stephen Barnes, has now teamed up for the spots with a Long Island animal shelter called Bobbi & the Strays and launched a new “Cellino & Bobbi” website.

“If your family’s like mine, pets mean a lot,” Cellino says in the 30-second ad airing on local stations. “So, please join us in helping animals find forever homes.”

“Sound good, Cooper?” he says, as the camera turns to a fluffy pup sitting between two young boys.

“Join Ross Cellino in supporting Bobbi & the Strays, a no-kill animal rescue shelter,” a narrator chimes in. “Your small business can sponsor a cage to provide food, medicine and care for animals in need. Helps empty the cage. Visit cellinoandbobbi.org.”

Robert “Bobbi” Giordano is the manager of Bobbi & the Strays, an animal rescue shelter with locations in Glendale and Freeport.

The partnership was launched in November, according to the local news site qns.com.

A worker at the shelter said Tuesday that nine of its cages have been endorsed by local business donors since the ad went on the air.

“This is a program that hasn’t been tried before, and it’s really bringing business owners who love animals but can’t adopt them,” shelter assistance director Iris Berrios told QNS. “Now they’re getting involved in helping in a way that gives them good exposure.”

Cellino & Barnes’ divorce is in the final stages. Cellino filed to dissolve the firm in 2017, with he and former partner Barnes now feuding over the firm’s catch jingle and hard-to-forget phone number, (800) 888-8888.

The two attorneys could not immediately be reached for comment.
