Reckless party-goers cram into bars in Spain amid coronavirus second-wave
Disturbing images show young revellers shoulder-to-shoulder in a bar amid reports of coronavirus second-wave in Spain.
Boozy partygoers were seen crammed together ignoring social-distancing rules in Catalonia.
Footage revealed the youngsters were hugging and kissing at the club, reports The Sun.
This comes as the country reported its highest single-day number of coronavirus infections with 9,779 more, breaking the record since the start of the pandemic.
It was also reported Spain has overtaken the US in new daily positivecoronavirus cases per million people, figures have confirmed.
The country is the hardest hit in Europe with tourist favourites Barcelona, Benidorm, Marbella emerging as virus hotspots.
Some areas are back in voluntary local lockdown due to the rise in cases which includes Gran Canaria.
However regions such as Catalonia are avoiding going into lockdown by taking measures.
The area has reportedly shut nightclubs and banned outdoor drinking, with people risking a fine of up to £14,000 if caught, reports The Sun.
However, despite the measures, footage revealed the Badiu bar-restaurant was packed with revellers.
Mauro Maqueada, the owner of Badiu, said: "We make all patrons enter with a face mask and do everything possible to adapt to the measures that are being applied.
"Every night, we throw people out for not behaving.

In estimates by tracker Our World in Data, which is run by researchers at Oxford University, Spain has overtaken the United States in terms of per million inhabitants.
Data is measured on a rolling seven-day average and they show Spain’s daily new confirmed cases per million people has reached 147.75 per million on August 25.
It comes as Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called on the army to help deal with the escalating crisis, and deployed 2,000 military personnel to hard-hit regions.
Mr Sánchez warned the pandemic could "take control of our lives" should the surge in cases continue into the autumn.
In a televised address to the nation this week he said the measures will support contact tracing measures in Spain’s badly hit regions, amidst ongoing criticism of the programme from the central government.
