Queen’s health ‘more secret than Area 51’ after hospital stay, expert claims

Buckingham Palace being 'shrouded in more secrecy than Area 51' over the Queen's health is creating more worry about the monarch than it needs to, an expert claims.

The 95-year-old monarch was seen by specialists at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in London earlier this month, in what was her first hospital stay for eight years.

Her Majesty was discharged and has since returned to royal duties with virtual audiences at Windsor Castle while her children and grandchildren are taking over some of the in-person tasks.

However, public concern is continuing to grow as the Palace have not confirmed what caused the health scare.

Royal reporter, Daniela Elser wrote for News AU: "It has now been nearly a week since news broke that the Queen is in the midst of some sort of health drama, the severity of which is shrouded in more secrecy than Area 51."

Despite the fact that Her Majesty has now been discharged from hospital, the lack of clarity on what ailment led the to the Queen's health scare is causing concern to grow.

She added: "All this ‘keep calm and carry on buying palace gift shop tea towels’ line seems to have only had the reverse effect and is stoking concern about what the true state of the 95-year-old’s health might actually be.

"Adding fuel to the fretful fire is that, last week, a palace spokesperson said she was “in good spirits”. Today, a source has told the Telegraph she “remains in good spirits”.

  • Prince Andrew 'won't be allowed into Jubilee events' next year over court case

"Buckingham Palace’s anodyne statements have been stuffed with exactly the same detail-free phrasing they hauled out when Prince Philip was hospitalised earlier this year, thus only ramping up worry for the sovereign."

Prince Philip had a 4-week hospital stay in March, earlier this year before he passed away on April 9, aged 99.

Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.
