Quarantined man performs gig for neighbours from balcony in coronavirus-hit city
A neighbourhood quarantined by authorities in China to prevent the spread of coronavirus is getting concert renditions by one spritely resident – but the government is not happy.
The man is among millions quarantined in the city of Wenzhou in a desperate attempt by Chinese authorities to prevent any further spread of the killer virus that has claimed the lives of 910 people.
In footage posted by Chinese news outlet CGTN, he can be seen belting out tracks for his neighbours with a full speaker and microphone set up.
As the day turned to night in the clip, his fellow residents join in the singing and even start waving their phones in the air to mimic a festival.
