She then screamed at the terrified woman: “You’re gonna die, b***h”.

The victim told officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department she felt an instant burning sensation when the needle pierced her arm.

She was rushed to hospital following the attack on Murfreesboro Pike.

The victim is now being treated at nearby Summit Hospital.

Garlit was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was given two citations for failure to be booked.

She was jailed on $27,000 (£20,497) bond.

US media reports Garlit was convicted on a prostitution charge and had her driver’s license revoked in 2017.

It is the latest in a string of crimes she has been accused of.

This year alone, she was convicted on charges including possession and casual exchange, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Her rap sheet also includes convictions for indecent exposure in December of last year, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia in October 2017, and felony theft of $500 (£380).

She has also had multiple public intoxication charges dismissed.

In January, a prostitution charge against Garlit was abandoned by the plaintiff.
