‘Prison’ London flat with toilet you can use from bed on Airbnb for £73 a night

A tiny flat in Central London that was ridiculed online is now available to rent on Airbnb for £73 per night.

The petite property close to Leicester Square tube station caused a stir on Twitter last month after British digital marketer Charles Floate posted a picture of it.

He told his followers: "This room is currently being advertised for £2,100 ($2,560) per month in Central London…"

It showed a single bed with a thin mattress lying just inches away from a toilet and a shower.

"Putting a whole new spin on the saying 'don't s*** where you eat' haha," one reply to the tweet read.

Another added: "Ahh nothing says luxury more than sleeping next to a toilet."

One simply asked: "Is it HMP Wandsworth?"

The property has now cropped up online again, this time available to rent on Airbnb for £73 per night.

Yesterday (Tuesday, January 3) images of the room were shared on the r/CasualUK Reddit page, alongside the caption: "Looking for an Airbnb in London… Did someone really just put a bed in their bathroom??"

Although it hasn't been expanded, the room does look more welcoming in these latest snaps as bedding and LED lights have been added.

The listing on Airbnb also reveals there is actually another room, roughly twice the size of the weird bedroom-bathroom hybrid.

It has a table, draws, kitchen appliances, floor to roof windows but is a common area shared with other flats, hence why the bed isn't in there.

The listing reads: "The room is not big and not very quiet. The toilet and shower has to fixed in the bedroom together but you could use the public toilet in the first floor. The location is best. You could use office and public areas freely."

It also optimistically says the room is suitable for two guests, but one reviewer writes: "I do not recommend for more than one person."

One commenter on Reddit said: "I reckon I could take a p*ss without getting out of bed there."

Another joked: "Looks like a great idea, especially if you are able to boil the toilet water to prepare some pasta or a tea."
