Prince Harry ‘plays the victim card every chance he gets’, says academic

Prince Harry has been accused of 'playing the victim card' by an academic.

Joanna Williams, director of Cieo, a think-tank, says his actions are a perfect example of all things "wrong with woke".

The Duke of Sussex recently announced he will be publishing his memoirs where he is expected to shed more light on his time growing up in the Royal Family.

He revealed the proceeds of the book will go to charity, writes The Express.

Following the news, many have asked how much more he might reveal following the number of explosive interviews he's given since moving to the US with wife Meghan Markle.

Harry sat down with the Duchess of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey where they made allegations against The Firm not supporting them after they tied the knot.

The Duke then met up with Oprah again for a docu-series on mental health where he said he feared his wife Meghan would die like his mother Diana, amidst other allegations of racism within the royal family.

He then went on the Armchair Expert podcast detailing how he moved to the UK and accused his father Prince Charles of passing on "genetic pain and suffering".

Ms Williams, head of education and culture at Policy Exchange, says the Duke was "paying the victim card at every possible opportunity."

She said: "What Meghan and Harry do that's so useful is that they just absolutely verbalise what the zeitgeist is, unintentionally revealing the consequences of a lot of these kinds of woke ideas.

"You take a couple who, as far as I'm concerned, are the absolute epitome of privilege, particularly Harry.

"You've got a white man – however, you want to play this, whether on identitarian grounds, or somebody who's money has come through inheritance – with huge amounts of wealth, who has had all kinds of doors opened for him, who has lived a life of incredible privilege.

"And yet he somehow manages to play the victim card at every available opportunity and thinks that his victim status, whether it's through mental health or through racism by proxy because of his relationship to Meghan, allows him to preach to the rest of us.

"Whether that be about protecting the environment whilst jetting off on private flights, or racism, or mental health."

However, since moving to California the couple set up their Archewell foundation where they promote Compassion In Action.

They were also seen helping the women's shelter in LA, working with a Washington DC chef and Harry announced he was appointed 'chief impact officer' for Silicon Valley life coaching start up, BetterUp.

Meghan was also praised for speaking out about having suicidal thoughts while pregnant with Archie due to the abuse she experienced online.

The 40-year-old also marked her recent birthday by asking 40 celebrity friends to help 40 women get back into work after the pandemic by coaching them, an initiative she called 40×40.
