Prince Harry never calls the Duchess of Cambridge Kate – he has his own nickname

The Royals may be strict when it comes to Royal titles, but just like other families they adopt nicknames for each other.

Over the years, the Royal Family have let slip what they call each other – and most of the nicknames are very sweet.

Even Her Majesty the Queen has a nickname – which came about because she referred to herself as “Tillabet” as a child.

As she grew older she became known as “Lilibet” among her family and close friends.

Meanwhile, Prince William, who is second in line to the throne, apparently likes to be called “Will”.

When it comes to Kate Middleton, there are also a selection of nicknames which her friends and family use.

According to OK! Magazine, her brother-in-law Prince Harry doesn’t call the Duchess of Cambridge Kate, like the rest of the world.

It turns out the Duchess was only using the nickname Kate at university, but previously preferred to go by her full name Catherine.

Prince Harry, simply refers to his sister-in-law as Cath, a shortening of the name Catherine.

But Kate previously admitted that she now doesn’t mind which name people use.

She told BBC Radio 1 presenter Scott Mills: “I will answer to most things.”

As a young girl Kate was nicknamed “Squeak”, when she attended St Andrew’s School in Berkshire.

The 39-year-old explained how the nickname had come about while on visit to the school years later.
