Prince Andrew ‘sad character’ at Prince Philip funeral says body language expert

Prince Andrew was revealing a lot by "swaying" on his feet during Prince Philip’s funeral, according to a body language expert.

Dr Louise Maher discussed his behaviour at the ceremony on Australia's Morning Show and said the Duke of York was a "sad character".

Analysing the Royal Family members, the expert told viewers: "Most notable with Andrew was, as they were walking along, he was swaying from side to side.

"His body doesn't go straight ahead, it goes side to side.

"I think that his body is showing the signs of a lifetime of indulgence.

"His stomach is swollen underneath his ribs."

Dr Louise added: "It lifts his chest up so we had a lot of the white of his shirt showing.

"His arms are out at the side and he's swaying from side to side.”

The body language expert hinted that he was isolated during the procession and the rest of the service.

She said that it seemed as if “nobody else spoke to him, he just stood behind his daughter.

"I thought he was a sad character."

The Duke of York stepped down from royal duties after a public outcry over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein – for which he has denied all wrongdoing.

He allegedly wanted to wear an Admiral's uniform at the funeral – a rank above the one he achieved during his naval career.

This would have made Prince Harry the only senior royal in civilian clothing.

Ultimately, all members of the Royal Family were dressed in civilian clothes on the day.

Former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said: "Now, Harry won't be the loner in a suit and Andrew won't wear a uniform with extra lace.

"His attempts to accelerate his rehabilitation have stuttered."
