Pranksters kill man on camera by pushing him off 12 foot bridge into river in hope 'funny' footage goes viral

TWO men in their 20s have been detained for pushing a stranger to his death in a river – "to make a funny social media video".

Sickening footage shows the 48-year-old man as he desperately clings to restaurant railings above the Dnipro River in Ukraine.

He was pushed into the river and then died

Moments later he was allegedly pushed by the pair from a height of 12ft into the water where he died, unable to swim to safety.

The National Police in Ukraine angrily hit out at the appalling phenomenon of making cruel videos to get web clicks.

Deputy chairman of the country’s police force Vyacheslav Abroskin was quoted saying: “Dnipro police have located and detained two bastards, born in 1993 and 1996, who pushed a stranger into the river for

the sake of filming a video with a mobile phone.

“The man was killed.”

'FUNNY' FOOTAGE

The pair allegedly wanted to make 'funny' footage involving their helpless victim to post on social media.

The video was made at Poplavok restaurant in Dnipro city which is built in the river.

Media showed a search operation which led to the man’s body being pulled from the murky water.

The two men – pictured but not named – were detained as part of a murder investigation.

The man was beaten before being pushed off the bridge, it is alleged.

Witnesses said there had been an argument before the man was pushed into the water.
