An eye witness said the van was travelling on blue lights but did not have the sirens on.

She claimed the vehicle was travelling very fast and when the police van hit the car it continued to go forwards until the car had become pinned between a wall and the van.

The road was closed at 10.50am and it remained closed at 2pm. It is unclear whether the road has been reopened but police have been urging people to use alternate routes.
