Squamish RCMP arrest suspect in Sunday stabbing
Squamish RCMP say they’ve made an arrest in relation to a possible stabbing Sunday night.
At about 9:30 p.m., police attended to a call in the Squamish neighborhood of ValleyCliffe.
They located an injured man, who was taken to hospital, and arrested a suspect shortly after.
The investigation is in its early stages, and Squamish RCMP say they’ll release more details Monday.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen him or know of his whereabouts to make contact.

GSK: Phase 3 PRIMA Study Of ZEJULA To Treat Ovarian Cancer Meets Primary Goal
GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK.L, GSK) announced Monday positive headline results in Phase 3 PRIMA study of ZEJULA (niraparib) as a maintenance therapy in patients with first-line ovarian cancer following platinum-based chemotherapy.
The company said its Phase 3 randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, study of ZEJULA met its primary endpoint of a statistically significant improvement in progression free survival for women regardless of their biomarker status.
The safety and tolerability profile of niraparib was consistent with previous clinical trials. The company will present the full results from PRIMA at an upcoming scientific meeting.
Hal Barron, Chief Scientific Officer and President, R&D,GSK, said, “Almost 300,000 women around the world are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year, yet only about 15% of patients are currently eligible to receive PARP inhibitors as their initial therapy. These exciting data demonstrate that ZEJULA has the potential to significantly benefit even more women with this devastating cancer.”
Polar Capital FY Pretax Profit Rises – Quick Facts
Polar Capital Technology Trust plc (PCT.L) reported that its fiscal year pretax profit improved to 385.5 million pounds from 286.0 million pounds, previous year. Earnings per share was 286.68 pence compared to 213.62 pence, prior year.
Fiscal year total income improved to 409.7 million pounds from 312.1 million pounds, last year.
On a revenue return basis, pretax loss for the fiscal year was 4.5 million pounds compared to a loss of 4.7 million pounds, a year ago. Loss per share was 4.73 pence compared to a loss of 4.62 pence. Total income improved to 13.1 million pounds from 10.2 million pounds.
Istesso’s Phase 2a Study On Rheumatoid Arthritis Meets Primary Objective
IP Group plc’s (IPO.L) portfolio company Istesso Limited said that Phase 2a study of its investigational drug MBS2320, for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, met primary objective, and was generally well-tolerated with no drug-related serious adverse events.
In the secondary objectives, there was evidence of clinical benefit as assessed by the American College of Rheumatology 20% response and Disease Activity Score.
IP Group holds a direct undiluted beneficial stake of 56.4% in Istesso.
Separately, IP Group said that portfolio company Ceres Power Holdings and Doosan signed a collaboration and licensing agreement to jointly develop SOFC distributed power systems initially targeted at the Korean commercial building market.
The 8 million pounds agreement includes licencing, technology transfer and engineering services. The agreement. The agreement is more than two years.
Doosan will take a system-level licence of Ceres’ proprietary SteelCell SOFC technology to develop a low carbon 5-20kW power system.
IP Group currently holds a direct undiluted beneficial stake of 18.8% in Ceres.
Ceres said today that it and Doosan intend to explore an expansion of the collaboration to access broader applications within South Korea and internationally as well as the potential to broaden the collaboration to include manufacturing.

A online campaign has been launched in Georgia to attract more tourists after a spat with Moscow sent visitor numbers plummeting.

Police investigating after body discovered in N.B. river
An investigation is underway after a woman’s body was discovered in a southwestern New Brunswick river.
New Brunswick RCMP say the discovery was made by the St. Stephen Fire Department Sunday morning.
Police say the body was found along the shore of the St. Croix River at Todd’s Point.
The cause of death has yet to be determined.
An autopsy is scheduled for this week.
