Police hunt ‘Batman and Joker’ after teens brutally assaulted in random attack

Police are hunting for a man and woman dressed as Batman and the Joker following a suspected knife attack.

CCTV picked up the pair just moments before two teenagers were violently assaulted, shortly after 3am on Sunday, October 30, in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said the 18-year-old men were injured in a "unprovoked attack".

It is understood that three teens left Stein Haus Bar on West Street and were followed by the man – dressed in black with a t-shirt emblazoned with the Batman logo – and a woman dressed as the Joker.

She was wearing makeup mimicking the notorious villain and had a low-cut purple top on.

Then the teens were attacked. One was left with "serious facial injuries" and required treatment at hospital. The other was slashed at the hip.

The nature of their injuries suggests a knife was used, police said.

Police are still investigating the assault and have released CCTV images of the man and woman in superhero garb. They wish to identify the pair as part of their investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the incident on October 30 has been urged to come forward.
