Plane sways violently during terrifying landing in middle of 75mph wind storm

A light aircraft was battered in 75mph crosswinds as it made a terrifying landing attempt.

The Cessna was spotted rocking violently from side to side as it made its approach.

Footage from on the ground – captured on March 10 during Storm Eberhard – shows the Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign see-sawing on the approach.

While hovering over the runway, the small plane "bounces" up and down as it comes down.

As the plane is about to land, its left wing is dragged towards the tarmac floor, lifting the opposite side of the plane into the air.

Eyewitness and experienced plane watcher who recorded the footage said: "The unique thing is the storm raises one wing as far as the other almost touches the runway.

"Never before have I recorded such behavior of an aircraft."

Further footage captured at the same airport on the same day shows a Eurowings Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 making a crosswind approach.

The Turboprop is tossed about, leading the pilot to abort the landing attempt and go round again.
