Pic of camouflaged snakes leaves Facebook users questioning their vision – but can YOU spot it?

CAN you spot the camouflaged snakes lurking in the grass in this image?

The slippery snakes left social media users scratching their heads after it was shared online by Aussie snake catchers.

Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, a professional snake-catching service based in Queensland, Australia, uploaded the brainteaser to their Facebook page.

The snake specialists explained the pair of reptiles had been spotted "basking in the sun right next to each other" by one of their experts, Dave.

As part of their weekly game of 'Spot the Snake Sunday', they challenged Facebook users to find the camouflaged serpents amongst the long grass.

But the image had some people worried about their vision as they were unable to locate it amongst the greenery.

The team wrote in a post: "Today we are making it a little bit more challenging.

"Not only do you have to spot all the snakes but you have to name the species. Both photos were taken on the Sunshine Coast.

"Good luck and see how you go. Please put your answers in the comments!”

Dozens of users took to the comments section to share their guesses, with many unable to locate the slippery beast.

One person wrote: "I need new glasses.”

“Agree…should’ve gone to Specsavers,” another user joked.

While a third chimed in: "Rubber snakes (Caoutchaucci fakus) from Australian Geographic."

The snakes proved they were masters of disguise as they managed to camouflage themselves so well that some users were convinced there was nothing to see.

One bemused user commented: "Can’t find anything?"

MASTERS OF DISSS-GUISE

Another said: "I have no idea and I’m terrified already."

But others proved more confident in their perception skills, claiming to have spotted everything from carpet pythons to brown tree snakes.

The snake-catching squad applauded their follower's efforts before revealing the snake were both lurking in the centre of the grass.

The Sunshine Coast team said there was a rough-scaled snake at the front and a red-bellied black snake behind it, hidden amongst the thicker grass.

Both species are venomous and are named after their appearances.

The rough-scaled snake can grow up to 2.2 foot in length and are typically found rom mid-eastern New South Wales to the tip of far-north Queensland.

They can even climb trees in pursuit of their prey and are highly venomous reptiles that will administer a fatal bite when attacked or handled.

The red-bellied black snake surpasses its fellow reptile in length, as it can grow up to 4.1 feet, and the species are native to the east coast of Australia.

Its venom can cause significant illness rather than death, with their favored prey being frogs, fish, reptiles, and small mammals.

Now you've beat this puzzle, could you find the snake perfectly hiding between the branches in this tree?
