Penis shaped HIV mascot banned from streets as it’s a ‘visual pollution’
A penis-shaped sex shop mascot that has been used in HIV-prevention campaigns has been taken off the streets after officials considered it "an attack on good taste".
Town officials were less than impressed with the cheeky mascot, which they also labelled "visual pollution".
The controversial mascot was taken off the streets of Tehuacan in the state of Puebla in central Mexico by the municipality of the town.
They say members of the public demanded the removal of the mascot – although online reaction to the events have not all been positive.
