‘Nonce killer’ boasts about burning paedo alive in sickening video inside prison

A self-titled “nonce killer” has been recorded boasting about burning a paedophile alive in a sickening prison video.

Danny Martin was jailed for 10 years for killing sex offender Andrew Heath after starting a fire outside his flat in December 2011.

The “dangerous” convict, 30, was released only to be given an extended prison term last February for two knife-point robberies committed four months after his release.

In an illegal video recorded at Category A HMP Woodhill last week, Martin calls himself a “nonce killer”.

He then tells notorious inmate Sam Walker: “I burned him (Mr Heath) in his house.”

In 2013 Martin, from Worcester, was jailed for 10 years for setting fire to a wheelie bin that was pushed up against the door of Mr Heath’s flat.

The fire sparked a ferocious blaze in which the 52-year-old was killed.

The former doorman, who had five convictions for gross indecency and indecent assault against teenagers as young as 14, was found by firefighters slumped against a radiator.

At his jailing, Birmingham Crown Court heard that Martin intended “to do something so frightening, it would cause him (Mr Heath) to move away from the area where he had lived since 2001”.

Mrs Justice Thirlwall said the crime was “shockingly stupid”.

Martin was released on a five-year licence in October 2017.

But just four months after being freed he robbed two people at knife-point with Tommy Jauncey, 22, in Worcester.

The pair wore skis masks and threatened to stab a pizza delivery man and taxi driver unless they handed over their valuables.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright jailed Martin for seven and a half years with an extended licence period of five years at Hereford Crown Court in February last year.

He said at the time: “I find you are dangerous within the legal definition. I have come to the firm conclusion that a commensurate sentence would not protect the public for a sufficient length of time from the risk that you pose and will continue to pose in the future.”

This means Martin – who had 77 previous offences – will be considered for release by the parole board only after he has served five years of his sentence.

Jauncey, from Worcester, was jailed for six years for his part in the robberies.
