Newlywed dad dead and his bride fighting for life following horror crash just weeks after they tied the knot

A NEWLYWED dad has died and his bride is fighting for life following a horror crash just weeks after they tied the knot.

Popular postie Alex Firth died at the scene after their Vauxhall Astra was crushed in a pile-up involving an HGV in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

His newlywed wife Kirsty was airlifted to hospital following the horror crash – along with his injured 10-year-old son.

The couple, both in their 30s, were only married in February.

Postie Alex posted wedding snaps of the couple as they celebrated tying the knot.

The tragedy unfolded in Barnsley on Sunday afternoon as the couple prepared to go on their honeymoon, friends said.
