Neighbours ‘heard screaming’ at home where mum and 3 kids died at sleepover

Two children were found dead near a third young girl after a quadruple murder at a sleepover hours after neighbours allegedly heard screaming.

Mum Terri Harris, 35, was found dead on Sunday in her home in Killamarsh, Derbyshire, alongside her children, Lacey, 11, and John, 13.

Police also discovered their 11-year-old friend, Connie Gent, dead at the scene after she had gone over for a sleepover.

A horrified local claims that neighbours heard screaming coming from the property at around 8pm on Saturday night, September 18, but the police were not notified.

The unnamed local told The Sun: "I don’t think anyone thought to call the police. It then went quiet for the rest of the night.

"They then heard screaming in the early hours."

Police arrived at around 7:30am the next morning, Sunday, September 19, and are said to have found the mum and the children dead.

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was first taken to hospital to be treated for self-inflicted injuries, before being quizzed in police custody, where he remains.

Officers were seen trawling through drains and grassland earlier today, September 21, as the investigation continues.

Detective Chief Inspector Sally Blaiklock who is leading the investigation said: "Our thoughts remain with the families of Terri, John Paul, Lacey and Connie – as well as the communities that have been affected by this most tragic of incidents.

"A large scene remains in place on Chandos Crescent and local residents will see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days, including patrols by officers in the local area.

"Myself and the team of the detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in Chandos Crescent between 6pm on Saturday, September 18 and 7am on Sunday, September 19, as well as anyone who may have video footage of the street.

"That can include dashcam, mobile phone footage, CCTV or video doorbells."
