Snow and snow showers will move out of the metro area overnight Saturday and another round of precipitation moves into the region late Monday into Tuesday.

Snow showers will linger in Denver on Saturday, skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will top out near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Snow accumulation should be minimal.

Snowfall overnight Friday in the region included 3 inches in Denver, with 11 inches reported in Breckenridge, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow showers are expected over the Front Range mountains and foothills Saturday, with up to two inches of snow possible in some areas, the weather service said. Snow will taper off this evening with cold overnight temperatures including below freezing readings in widespread areas.

Tonight in Denver there’s a chance for rain and snow showers before 11 p.m., then a chance of snow showers, according to the weather service. Skies will be mostly cloudy, the low temp will be about 32 degrees and the chance for precipitation is 30%. New accumulation will be minimal.

Sunday in Denver there’s a 20% chance for snow showers before 7 a.m., skies will be mostly sunny and the high temperature will climb to near 58 degrees. Overnight skies will be mostly cloudy and the low will be around 35 degrees.

A chance of showers between 1 and 4 p.m. Monday will give way to a chance for late-day thunderstorms, the weather service said. Skies will be partly sunny and the high temp will be about 64 degrees. The chance for precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday will likely be a wet day in Denver, the chance for precipitation is 90%, according to the weather service. Morning showers are likely with a possible afternoon thunderstorm as the high temp tops out near 50 degrees.
