HOUSE Speaker Nancy Pelosi slammed "hypocritical" Republicans and said they would pay "a price for elections to come" if they move forward with appointing a new Supreme Court Justice.

On Monday night, Pelosi appeared on MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes, criticizing "disrespectful" Republicans.

The House Speaker said they disrespected late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away last Friday, by moving forward "that very night by saying they would have a vote on her replacement."

"Let's remember this is a lifetime appointment, somebody that could be there for 30 years," Pelosi said.

"It should be done with care, whoever the president is. So the hypocrisy of the Republicans on this is really not important in people's daily lives, but it is indicative that they don't keep their word."

Pelosi added: "And this appointment, the reason the president and Leader McConnell are moving forward so quickly is because they want to overturn the Affordable Care Act."

The "hypocrisy" Pelosi mentions calls back to the 2016 election when Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to allow President Obama's Supreme Court pick get a vote in 2016, because it was an election year.

Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have also blasted McConnell, calling him out for "blatant, nasty hypocrisy."

They said House Dems would take "unprecedented" measures to ensure the next president chooses the next Supreme Court justice.

"We need to make sure we mobilize on an unprecedented scale to ensure this vacancy is reserved for the next president," Ocasio-Cortez said.

Pelosi further told MSNBC that Republicans "don't really understand" that they will see defeats in Congress like 2018 "again and again."

"And you know what?" She said. "They're going to be paying this price for elections to come, elections to come. Everyone is looking at what makes a difference in these senatorial races. We’ll see. But what they don’t really understand is they’re going to see 2018 again and again and again in terms of defeat in the Congress."

On Monday evening, President Trump told his supporters his Supreme Court pick would come Friday or Saturday of this week and it will be a woman.

In response to his swift nomination, Pelosi said she was open to using impeachment to stop the Republicans' push for a Supreme Court confirmation.

"We have our options," Pelosi told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos.

When pressed by Stephanopoulos on "not ruling anything out", she said: "We have arrows in our quiver that I'm not about to discuss right now but the fact is we have a big challenge in our country."
