My neighbour is a disgusting hoarder and owns houses on BOTH sides – we are trapped and it’s made life hell

NEIGHBOURS have been left furious as a nightmare landlord uses two of his homes as dumping grounds – leaving a helpless family stuck in the middle.

The two homes are overflowing with debris with locals horrified with the piles of rubbish attracting rats to the "open sewer".

The properties in Romford, east London are packed with all sorts of rubbish from hoovers, radiators and chairs to even entire washing machines, sofas and doors as well as scrap metal, lawnmowers, two trailers, kitchen sinks and abandoned motor vehicles.

And neighbours say they feel stuck with the rubbish after owner Keith Eaton was ordered to pay £4,726 and told to clean up the mess in June – with the mounds of stinking waste still there after years building up.

Denise Hipson Avery, 64, who lives a few doors down told The Sun Online: "They're going through hell. We don't see any end to it.

“You couldn’t live in there, this house has actually got worse since the court order, also what is it all? It’s all crap.

“His van is leaking oil, his various vans take up valuable parking spaces – even the cars are all filled with rubbish!

“He’s blocked off the garden from the house, the garages, floor to ceiling, with rubbish."

She said the mess was "horrendous" despite her attempts to work with the council.

Another neighbour on the same road said: “You would not be able to live in that house, there’s no water connected and it’s filled to the ceilings with rubbish.

“He a number of old vans he’s got on the street which takes up all the parking, even they are crammed with stuff.

“He disregards any court order.

“He doesn’t seem to take notice or anyone else, it’s not fair on the rest of us.

“The rubbish he’s got in his garages, he’s got a collapsed drain in his front garden now, it’s terrible, we really really sorry for the poor lot in the middle.

“The fact is he’s ignoring that’s what’s bothering me the most, and thinks he’s above the rules, that’s his attitude.”

And another agreed: “I think he knows how to work the system, he knows how to play the game.

“I was told if he doesn’t do anything, they will have to get a court summons all over again."

Havering Council confirmed that they are taking further action against Mr Eaton.

Councillor Damian White, leader of Havering Council, said: “The council successfully prosecuted Mr Eaton on his failure to comply with the ‘untidy land’ notices.

"We gave him a reasonable and fair amount of time to comply with the notices, the deadline to clear the garden has passed and the council is getting ready for further prosecution.”

Denise added: “I have been working with the council, and become a member of Havering Resident’s Association to help tackle the issue and I believe the council have had difficulty getting hold of him to check the property.”
