My mum makes £2,000 a month with easiest Amazon side hustle ever – you can do it with just a few clicks | The Sun

A MAN has told how his 68-year-old mum rakes in a whopping £2,000 a month with just a few clicks thanks to a simple Amazon side hustle.

Steve Raiken – better known as Raiken Profit online – says his mother is earning the big bucks by reselling books from thrift stores.

The self-proclaimed side hustle expert explained he showed her the ropes of online retail before she branched out alone.

His mum, dubbed Mamma Profit by his 259,000 followers, is now hot on the heels of her entrepreneurial son with her own reselling gig.

Steve explained she often joined him while he trawled thrift stores for clothing, interesting objects and books for him to snap up.

He would scour the shelves for the best bits before sprucing them up and flogging them on eBay and Amazon.

"Finally she said to me one day – I wish I could resell online," the social media star said in a 2019 YouTube video.

But Mamma Profit didn't want to be bogged down with the logistics such as listing, photographing and shipping the items.

So Steve decided to teach his mum how to master the art of reselling, with the aid of a handy app that does all the work for you.

He said: "At that time, I was just getting started with selling books and I was mesmerised by the fact you can just whip out your phone and scan a book and it will tell you if you should buy it or not.

Apps such as Scout IQ can scan the barcodes on books and instantly produce a breakdown of its performance on Amazon.

The technology will inform users about how much it is selling for, while factoring in sellers fees to calculate the potential profits.

Although there is a monthly fee to access the full benefits of the app, it seems to be worth the cost as it saves sellers a lot of time.

Steve staunchly believes it is a small price to pay for simplifying the lucrative side hustle – as it got his mum on the journey to success.

He explained that all Mamma Profit has to do now is buy a haul of books from thrift stores after finding out their worth via the app.

Steve shared a TikTok video documenting the scanning process to show his army of followers just how easy it is – regardless of age or ability.

Mamma Profit was seen clutching a book she had thrifted, flipping it over to find the barcode and scanning it in just a matter of seconds.

Moments later, a breakdown of the item's performance on Amazon pops up and reveals the profit potential.

The content creator captioned the clip: "This is how my mom makes $3,000 (£2,300) per month.

"She scans books to see how much it's worth. $72 (£57) baby!"

Social media users were left stunned by the straightforward side hustle, with many praising how it was accessible for all ages.

But the majority were just keen for Steve to spill his secrets so they could follow suit and earn a secondary source of income.

One excitedly wrote: "How can I get into this business?"

Another added: "Smart mom!"

And a third said: "Info please!"
