A YOUNG mother who only started playing lottery games three weeks ago has floored $300,000 on the lottery.

The mum in her 20s, who lives in Fairfield held the only division one winning entry in Wednesday's Lotto Strike draw 5015.

She took home the division one prize of $302,379.25.

Having only played a few games before her win, the young woman was unable to contain her excitement when an official confirmed the prize on Thursday morning.

She said: “I only started playing about three weeks ago. I’ve been playing a few games and thought I’d give Lotto Strike a go.

“You think your chances of winning are small – you don’t expect to win!"

The woman, who purchased the winning ticket online, happened to check her ticket after Wednesday evening's draw and couldn't believe her chances.

She recalls sitting shocked for a while and struggling to get to sleep that night.

“This is the best news ever! It’s really going to help my young family out”, she added.

The mother used a combination of birth dates and special numbers to pick her lucky numbers.

The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday were 43, 25, 31 and 13.

The tally of the Lott's division one winners has now reached 306 for this calendar year, including 90 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
