Mum tears her face from nose to lip in horror trampoline park accident that leaves her 'gushing with blood'
A MUM ripped her top lip away from her nose after she bounced face first into a wall at a trampoline park.
Michelle Conway may now be left with permanent scarring after the accident on a family day out.
The 40-year-old from Wrexham, North Wales, now wants to warn others of the dangers of trampolining.
The mum-of-four and her family had planned the trip to Flip Out in Chester, Cheshire, after it opened a month ago.
But when she went into the free-run area and tried a move which would catapult her over a wall, she was sent straight into the opposite wall causing the horrific accident.
She said: "Instead unfortunately, it propelled me straight into the opposite wall, splitting the base of my nose away from my upper lip.
“Why on earth aren’t these walls padded? They are solid hard walls and children are on this ‘free run’ zone. I dread to think how I would have felt if it had been one of my children.”
“My youngest child called for help as there was blood everywhere, I even tried to stay off the white mesh trampoline so as not to stain it.
“It felt like ages before a member of staff actually turned up to help. There were children all around me and they must have been horrified. I then had to walk to the first aid room which was by the front entrance. I had blood pouring out of my wound and was offered nothing to cover it up whilst I walked through the whole building.”
She said staff told her to hold her lip together with a piece of tissue while her husband drove her to A&E her mouth pouring with blood.

Michelle added: “The force was that excessive the split went straight through the skin and I lost my frenulum, which is the piece of skin between the upper lip and gum.
“There is a waiver to sign before you go ‘jumping’ which states there is a ‘risk of death’.
“I wonder how many people actually read this? If you thought you were actually going to die jumping on a trampoline would you go willingly to these places and take your children?”
Matthew Melling, director at Flip Out Chester, said: “We are saddened to hear of Mrs Conway’s experience and would like to be clear that an injury such as this, although upsetting for all involved, is very rare. In fact, of the 45,000 visits at Flip Out Chester to date, our records show that there have been just seven occasions where it has been necessary to advise people to visit A&E – less than 0.016 per cent of visits.
“Nevertheless, Mrs Conway is right to expect a courtesy call from us to check on her well being and we would like to apologise for not being in touch sooner.
"We would normally make a follow-up call within a week of any incident taking place. We would welcome the chance to talk to Mrs Conway directly – customer feedback in any form is welcomed and acted upon to ensure a great experience for future guests.
”We, and all our staff, take the safety of each and every one of our visitors extremely seriously. All our own families bounce and climb here all the time – we trust our staff and our facilities.
"Like all sport and leisure activities there are risks involved whether at home, on a sports court or pitch, or at a trampoline park.
“However, we do all we can to mitigate the risks through safety briefings, signage, waivers, and supervising each section of the arena at all times. As a result the overwhelming majority of Flip Out visitors have an awesome experience that is a lot of fun.”
