The Mullen fire, burning southwest of Centennial, Wyo., is pushing southeast and evacuations were ordered Wednesday in Colorado.

The Jackson County Sheriffs Office has ordered evacuations for all residents north of the 3-Way area along highways Colorado 125 and Colorado 127 and the state line. The area is north of Cowdrey.

The Mullen fire has burned 96,757 acres southwest of Centennial, Wyo., since starting on Sept. 17, according to InciWeb.

The fire flared up on Wednesday in the Pelton Creek Campground in Wyoming and is spreading southeast toward the Colorado state line, fire officials said. Aircraft are working on the fire and fire crews on the ground continue to focus on structure protection.

On Wednesday morning the fire was burning about three miles north of Jackson County, the sheriff’s office said.

By Wednesday afternoon a pre-evacuation order for the area became a full evacuation order. Mandatory evacuations have also been ordered in Wyoming.

Fire officials have ordered voluntary evacuations for the areas of Roach and Hohnholz in the northwest part of Larimer County.

Winds out of the north and northwest have driven the fire on Wednesday.
