Monster shook his baby daughter so violently she's quadriplegic with a 'life not worth living' … and he could be out in two years

A BRUTAL dad who shook his baby daughter so violently she was left as a quadriplegic with a “life not worth living” could be released from prison after just two years.

The New Zealand man, 41, who cannot be named, shook his baby with such violence in 2016 that her heart stopped and her brain went into decline.

The toddler now suffers from severe spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and will require full time care for the rest of her life.

The man pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to his daughter when he appeared at the Southport District Court, Queensland, Australia, The Courier Mail reported.

After shaking his baby the man went into a panic and ran to his neighbour’s house to call the emergency services and perform CPR.

He gave the police a number of variations of the story, the court heard, but the truth emerged after a medical examination.

Crown prosecutor Michael Hines told the court the girl will never be able to eat or move by herself.

He said: “She will never get better… she has no quality of life.

“This is extremely serious offending … it's hard to imagine a more serious consequence.”

Judge Julie Dick called the case “appalling” and added the baby girl had been left with a “life not worth living”.

The man was sentenced to six years behind bars but will be eligible for parole after just serving two.
