American Murder: The Family Next Door viewers are convinced they've noticed the moment Shanann Watts sends police a message about her murder "from beyond the grave".

The explosive new Netflix documentary tells the story of Chris Watts, who killed his pregnant wife Shanann and unborn son, Nico, as well as his two daughters – four-year-old Bella and three-year-old Celeste.

Watts buried Shannan's body in a shallow grave and dumped his daughters' bodies into an oil tank at the oil and gas exploration site where he worked in Frederick, Colorado, US.

Shanann was discovered in a "foetal position" in a shallow grave, while her two young daughters were found in "crude oil sludge".

Watts was sentenced to five life sentences without parole, and will spend the rest of his life in prison for the twisted murders.

And now fans of the documentary on Facebook believe they have unearthed the moment Shanann sent police a message from beyond the grave about her murder.

The video, which has been widely shared, shows the moment Watts asks a neighbour to share their CCTV footage with him and police the morning after his family had gone missing.

As the neighbour turns the CCTV off, a foetus and then a skull appear on the screen and fans believe this was Shanann sending police a message about what had happened to her.

The clip was posted with the caption: "Chris Watts stood next to the TV in his neighbours home while the police watched the CCTV footage…

"As they chatted a foetus, then a skull floating in oil appeared on the screen.

"His wife Shanann was four months pregnant and he put his two daughters in oil tanks.

"If you believe in the paranormal, was it Shanann sending them clues or coincidence?

"Very creepy."

Other Facebook users agreed that the clip had been a message from Shanann from beyond the grave.

One said: "I'm in shock. Wow."

And a paranormal investigator believes they are right.

"Jane, one of our mediums, did sense someone in the room with them when the foetus and skull appear on screen.

"We as a group do have spirits come through on our investigations. The woman was of strong character so there is a good possibility that she could have come through."
