Missing Mouseketeer Dennis Day found dead in his Oregon home

A body believed to be that of missing Mouseketeer Dennis Day has been found at his home in Oregon.

Police in the town of Phoenix were called to Day’s property on Thursday, but the body has not yet been identified, Oregon Live reported.

Day, 76, was an original cast member of “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1950s.

In July, his husband, Ernie Caswell, who suffers from memory loss and was hospitalized at the time, reported him missing.

Nelda Adkins, Day’s sister, told “Dateline” in February that Caswell alerted police after Day hadn’t visited him in weeks.

“He had someone from the hospital call the police and report Dennis as missing,” she said.

The report said that on the day he disappeared, Day “uncharacteristically” left his dog with a friend, the local news site says.

According to NBC, that friend said he watched Day, who said he was going to visit friends, leave on foot.

Almost two weeks later, Day’s car was discovered on the Oregon coast being driven by two strangers, NBC said.

Day’s family has been disappointed by the case’s lack of development, and called it a “poorly handled investigation.”

Concerned fans and family members started a “Help Us Find Dennis Day” Facebook page to generate tips.

Rosanne Reynolds, an active poster in the group, wrote, “The investigation, in some ways, is just beginning,” in reaction to news of the body being found at his residence.
