Missing cat found five years later just two streets away – and is now blind
A loyal cat has been reunited with its owner after rescuers found it just two streets away five years since going missing.
Neo, now 13, disappeared in September 2015 and is thought to have been unable to find his way back home after going blind in a nasty collision with a vehicle, Lincolnshire Live reports.
Owner Becky Lea from Lincoln launched a search party for him over several months until heartbreakingly accepting that she would never see him again.
Years later and Mrs Lea received the most unexpected call from Lincoln Cat Care Charity on Wednesday, informing her that Neo had been discovered just two streets away on St Andrews Street.
Mrs Lea said: "He was such a loyal cat, he would never go off even if somebody tried to feed him his favourite food he would never had gone to anybody so I couldn't get my head around what happened.

"He went out one night so I left the cat flap open for him to come back in and he never returned."
During her search, Mrs Lea received numerous calls from people who believed they had seen him but he would leave before she could collect him.
Mrs Lea had since moved away from Cross Street, however, she had brought his bowls with her to her new home in the hope that he would one day be discovered.
Commenting on the moment she received the phone call that Neo had been found, she said: "Straightaway I was like: 'what is happening' and when she said he had been found I just couldn't stop crying."
The moment, however, was bitter sweet as Neo is now blind after suffering a head trauma.
Penny Craig from Lincoln Cat Care Charity explained: "Unfortunately he had obviously had a knock from a vehicle which caught him on the head – we are presuming that knock has made him blind.
"His mouth was also injured as well so the vet has had to try and repair the sides of his mouth which were damaged."
After his visit to the vets Neo was collected by his owner and taken home.
She said: "As soon as we got home I took him upstairs to my bedroom, I am moving houses again in two months so I am now planning to make sure that home will be suitable for Neo to live in.
"It will take him time to readjust to his new home but he will be spoilt rotten for the rest of his life."
